Description: The Sharlot Hall Museum, a large
museum in Central Arizona, can be found in downtown Prescott,
just two blocks west of the Courthouse Plaza. The three
acre landscaped campus includes eight historic restored
structures. the Museum's buildings form an architectural
sequence spanning the years from the founding of Prescott in
1864 to the present. The exhibits and the Museum's
collection of artifacts, photographs, documents and buildings
tell the stories of those who settled Arizona and the West and
of the area's rich natural environment. Public programs
include four annual festivals, historical reenactments in an
outdoor amphitheater, heritage gardens, and education outreach
opportunities for children and adults. The museum is
also home to a store, archives, and library.
