Portage National Monument

Description: Located at the
"Grand Portage" which linked Lake Superior with
western lakes and rivers, the monument contains a
reconstructed palisade with great hall and kitchen complex and
a canoe warehouse. The site also contains an Ojibwe
Village, Voyageur Encampment, and the ruins of Fort Charlotte.

different aspects of life in a trading post.
Videos are available in the great hall, trade goods are
displayed for hands-on examination, trails lead to ruins
