Mill National Historic Site

Description: Site of the first water-powered
textile factory in this country in 1790, the existing mill was
built in 1793 and contains a replica of the original carding
machine and other textile machinery from 1838-1960. Next
door is the Wilkinson Mill of 1810, a machine shop powered by
a waterwheel. Also the Sylvanus Brown house furnished as
it would have been when he worked as a millwright and
carpenter.
