Mickelson Trail, a historic railroad conversion, offers 109 miles of hiking and biking from the Southern Hills through Custer to the Northern Hills. * Custer offers a free tennis court and a free skateboarding park. They are located one block south of the stop light located at Mt. Rushmore Road and 8th Street. * Custer has three parks located in the city: Way Park, 420 Mt. Rushmore Road Harbach Park, South 7th Stree French Creek Park, South 4th Street * The Custer County 1881 Courthouse Museum is located at the corner of Mt. Rushmore Road and 4th Street. It houses a historical view of our area. There are many photo stops, picnic areas, walking trails, creeks, and rocks to climb. Maps of these and more roads will be available at the motel. * Swimming is popular at all of our area lakes.
