Description:
24 separate sites including 20 restored homes and
businesses of 1840's. Nauvoo was a site where Mormons
stopped on their way west, to a hostile reception, and the
Icarian Society later had a branch. Nauvoo Restoration is just
one of several organizations operating properties in the area.

You might as well start at the Uptown Visitor Center,
which is run by the Chamber of Commerce, and will have
information on all the sites. Nauvoo Restoration
is the largest, with more than two dozen homes and daily
craft demonstrations. |
