Description: Staten Island saw Dutch,
English, and French settlers, British troops in the
revolution, and early suburban development. This was the former County
Seat, and restoration was begun with the conversion of the
1848 County Clerk's and Surrogate's Office to a museum.
Other buildings were restored on site or moved from elsewhere.
