Description: Centerpiece of the site is the
John Johnston farm, restored to 1829 appearance.
Costumed interpreters and craft demonstrators provide farm
tours showing the two-story springhouse and cider house,
and display activities in the summer kitchen, log barn and
fruit kiln areas. On site is a modern museum constructed
to resemble Fort Piqua, used by General Anthony Wayne as a
supply depot. A mile long stretch of the Miami and Erie
Canal has been restored and a replica 70 foot long canal boat
is available for rides, guided by costumed interpreters and
powered by mule.
