Description: The Cherokee Heritage Center is
located on 44 heavily wooded acres, three miles south of
Tahlequah, Okla., just off Highway 62 on Willis Road. The
Center lies tucked away in the Oklahoma foothills of the Ozark
Mountains.
Located on the exact spot where the Cherokee
national Female Seminary once stood, the first school of
higher education for women west of the Mississippi River, the
Cherokee Heritage Center offers many activities and events
designed to educate the public about Cherokee culture.
