McKavett State Historical Site

Description: Fort constructed in 1852,
abandoned 1859, reoccupied 1868-1883. 25 structures
include ruins and restored buildings. The 1870 hospital
holds an interpretive center. Office quarters, school,
barracks, post headquarters and others have been restored.
